Post a professional position for soon-to-be graduates and alumni
Professional positions will be posted on the UW SLIS Jobs Blog. To submit a posting, use the Submit a Job form. If you have any questions about posting a professional position, please see our FAQ page on the jobs blog.
Post a job or internship for current students
Internships and jobs for current students are posted on the UW-SLIS Daily Digest (our information blog for current students). Many SLIS students work in paid positions or unpaid internships at local public libraries, academic libraries, archives, and other information agencies during their studies.
If you would like to post a job opportunity or internship in the Madison area for current students, send the position via email to the SLIS Main Office at: email@example.com.
Be sure to include the following information:
- description of the project
- required knowledge and skills
- estimated hours
- desired work schedule
- paid or unpaid
- application procedures and deadline
Host a field placement (practicum) student at your site
Every SLIS student completes a 120-hourfield placement (practicum) during their studies, which is non-paid and for credit. If you are interested in hosting a practicum student, you can find more information on the Information for Practicum Supervisors page.
